Welding between plastic and metal parts on plastics can be made using the heat generated by the friction developed during vibration, frequency 20 to 40KHz of the mating surfaces. The ultra-sonic vibrations are transmitted by means of a tool (sonotrode) and heating is created by the friction of the two parts along the contact surface. The welding technology is applied to hard plastic and semi-hard plastic, and allows a quick and clean welding.
